Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
EYES: Immediately wash with fresh water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.
SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing as soon as possible; this will be a fire hazard. Wash exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists, consult a physician. Launder contaminated leather shoes or clothing should be discarded.
INHALATION: In event of over exposure remove individual to fresh air, taking steps necessary to protect the rescuer. If unconscious but breathing, place in recovery position. If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration. Seek medical assistance.
INGESTION: If this material is swallowed do not induce vomiting. If vomiting begins, lower victim´s head in an effort to prevent vomit from entering lungs. Immediately seek medical assistance. If victim is unconscious do not attempt to administer fluids, place in recovery position and protect airway.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Use water spray, dry chemical, foam or carbon dioxide. Never use water in a jet.
Accidental release measures
Shut off source and contain with sand or earth to prevent entry to watercourses and sewers. Contain spill immediately in smallest area possible.
Handling and storage
Handle in a well-ventilated area or provide efficient exhaust ventilation. Wear long sleeved, chemical resistant gloves, and also safety glasses if there is a risk of splashing. Avoid prolonged contact with the skin.
Store in properly designed tanks or approved tightly closed containers in cool, well ventilated situations away from sources of ignition. Protect from static discharges.
All hazards precautions given here must be applied to handling of empty containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection
TECHNICAL PROTECTION MEASURES:
Appropriate engineering controls relevant to task.
- Containment as appropriate;
- Segregation of the emitting process;
- Good standard of general ventilation;
- Effective contaminant extraction;
ORGANISATIONAL PROTECTION MEASURES
- Minimisation of manual phases;
- Minimise number of staff exposed;
- Management/supervision in place to check that the RMMs in place are being used correctly and OCs followed;
- Training for staff on good practice;
- Avoidance of contact with contaminated tools and objects;
- Regular cleaning of equipment and work area;
- Good standard of personal hygiene
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
- Substance/task appropriate gloves;
- Skin coverage with appropriate barrier material based on potential for contact with the chemicals;
- Substance/task appropriate respirator;
- Eye protection.
- Optional face shield;
EYE PROTECTION: Goggles to BSEN 166 are required when exposed to vapour or when splashing is possible. Eye wash should be provided.
SKIN PROTECTION: Unprotected exposure by skin contact to liquid or vapour should be avoided. Protective clothing consisting of impervious gloves (nitrile or PVC) and coveralls should be used when necessary to avoid skin contact.
INHALATION PROTECTION: Appropriate respirator
Stability and reactivity
STABILITY: Stable under normal storage conditions.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Do not heat above flash point. Avoid naked flames and sparks.
MATERIALS TO AVOID: Strong oxidising agents, Strong reducing agents, Acids.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITIONS PRODUCTS: Does not decomposes under normal conditions.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: Carbon monoxide, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, unburnt hydrocarbons, oxides of nitrogen.
HAZARDOUS POLYMERISATION: Does not polymerise.
ELECTROSTATIC ACCUMULATION HAZARD: Yes
Disposal considerations
When material cannot be re-cycled or incinerated in a safe manner, it should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
