Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From May 3 to 5, 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Version / remarks:
2008
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Relative self-ignition temperature:
299.6 °C
Remarks on result:
preliminary test

Temperature of the test substance exceeded oven temperature in ca. 190 °C.

There was sharp rise of temperature reaching the value 408°C (corresponds to the temperature 400 °C after correction) when the temperature of the oven was 307.4 °C for the first experiment and 306.3 °C for the second experiment. Mean temperature after correction was 299.6 °C.

Conclusions:
Relative self-ignition temperature of test substance is 299.6 °C.
Executive summary:

Method

Self-ignition temperature determined according to EU method A.16.

Results

Relative self-ignition temperature of test substance is 299.6 °C.

Description of key information

No spontaneous ignition and no exothermic reactions was observed up to the melting point

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
299.6 °C
