Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test substance to Danio rerio was tested in two tests. Both studies are in agreement with each other, showing similar results.

The key study (1990, RL2) was done according to a method proposal of the German Federal Environmental Agency (Umweltbundesamt) from 1984, similar to OECD 203.Groups of 10 animals per concentration were exposed to the test substance at concentrations of 1.4, 2.6, 5.5, 11, and 22 mg/L in synthetic freshwater for up to 96 h. The highest tested concentration which did not cause mortality over 96 h was 3.7 mg/L (=LC0) (measured concentrations), and the minimal concentration leading to 100% mortality in the tested fish after 96 h of exposure was 7 mg/L (=LC100) (measured concentrations). The geometric mean of these two values (LC0/LC100), which is considered to represent the LC50 value, was calculated to be 5.1 mg/L (based on measured concentrations).

In the supporting study (2013, RL4) conducted according to an OECD draft guideline (2006), the mortality of fish embryos after 48 hours exposure with the test substance was assessed. Concentrations of 0.316 to 31.6 mg/L were tested. The LC50 (48 h) was determined to be 5.75 mg/L (based on measured concentrations).

Data on marine water fish are not available.
