Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

General: remove from the danger area; seek medical assistance; show specific MSDS to the physicians; treat synptomatically,
If inhaled: remove the patient from the danger area; if breathing difficulties persist due to accidental inhalation of dust, aerosols or combustion fumes, provide oxygen and/or artificial respiration. Seek medical assistance.
If in eyes: rinse cautiously and thoroughly with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do; continue rinsing.
If on skin and clothes: remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Wash clothing before re-use.
If ingested: rinse the mouth with water without swallowing. Do not induce vomiting or administer anything without medical advice. Seek medical assistance.

Fire-fighting measures

General: avoid formation of dust clouds and prevent formation of electrostatic loading or contact with other ignition sources.
Extinguishing media: foam, water spray, carbon dioxide, chemical powder. Do not use water in proximity of electrical apparatus.
Danger in case of fire: possible evolution of toxic fumes of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and sulphur oxides.
Protective devices for fire-fighting people: protetctive devices/clothing for head, hands, skin and eyes; self-contained breathing apparatus.
Firefighting water/media and fire residues must be disposed as hazardous wastes in compliance with current Regulations.

Accidental release measures

General: do not allow presence of unprotected people in the area. Send away people not in charge to manage the issue.
Environmental: do not allow dispersed material to reach sewers and watercourses.
Methods for cleaning up: use inert absorbents (sand, kieselgur...); collect mechanically the released material and dispose according to hazardous waste handling procedures. Ventilate the area if proper; if necessary wash with water disposing the resulting liquid as hazardous waste.

Handling and storage

General: the substance is stable in normal conditions of storage: no special temperature/humidity conditions are required; use only in closed systems in SCC. Use local exhaust during charging/discharging and when collecting any sample.
Emissions: captured air and process emissions should be properly handled before immission in atmosphere (gaseous emissions purification system).
Wastes: wastes deriving from activities involving the substance should be considered hazardous and handled as such.
Storage: store in well closed, leakproof containers in well ventilated, dedicated area. As precautionary measure, prevent contact/protect from electrostatic loading or other ignition sources. Avoid moisture and proximity with incompatible materials (strong acid and bases, oxidants).
Furter measures: as additional, redundant protection measures, workers sould wear proper PPE for skin, eyes, hands and breathing apparatus when handling the substance. Strictly follow directions for use, cleaning and maintenance reported by the supplier for each PPE. Wash accurately before re-use.

Exposure controls / personal protection

The substance is not transported outside the site: all the imported amount is stored and totally used for fine chemicals (APIs) manufatcuring operations (please refer to the specific section).
A periodical check of workers exposition to the substance is carried out. Qualified personnel evaluates the results in order to implement further protective measures, if proper.

Stability and reactivity

Stable under normal conditions of use.
Conditions to avoid: very high temperature could origin decomposition with emission of toxic/irritating/corrosive fumes.
Thermal decomposition could result in emission of oxides of Carbon, Nitrogen and Sulphur.
Materials to avoid: strong acid and bases; oxidizing agents.

Disposal considerations

Strictly observe all local, regional, national, international Regulations for disposal. Waste deriving fom handling/using the substance should be considered as hazardous and disposed as such. Containers should be handled in the same way.
Disposal of wastes: keep in well closed containers and send waste (including contaminated containers) to authorized companies for disposal.
