Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Data for the most sensitive long term toxicity test for 2 different species of terrestrial arthropds are summarised in the EU-RAR (2008). According to these data, the effect concentrations for Trinickel Dicitrate were calculated. Values in brackets refered to data without background correction. The background correction was made in the EU-RAR (2008), when only nominal values were available.
Folsomia candida: EC10 (28d, reproduction) = 114.6 mg Trinickel Dicitrate/kg dw
Folsomia fimetaria: EC10 (21d, reproduction) = 563.3 mg Trinickel Dicitrate/kg dw (544.3 mg Trinickel Dicitrate/kg dw)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Data on chronic single-species toxicity tests resulting in NOEC/L(E)C10 values for soil invertebrates are summarised in Table 3.2.3-3 of the EU-RAR (2008) (see attacheg data in key study record of chapter 6.3.2). Values selected for the effects assessment are underlined. In the total risk approach 16 individual NOECs for 2 different arthropods are selected ranging from 36.4 mg/kg to 1140 mg/kg for Folsomia candida reproduction (114.6 to 3587.6 mg Trinickel Dicitrate/kg).

Detailed toxicity data for the most sensitive value for Folsomia candida could not be shown here, because this data were not public available. So the most sensitive data for Folsomia fimetaria were recorded here in detail.
