Taking the available information on exposure potential, biodegradability, adsorption potential and aquatic toxicity of the submission item into account, studies on the terrestrial toxicity of the substance are not indicated. The submission item is not supposed to be directly applied to soil and an indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge transfer is unlikely since the substance is substantially biodegradable (pass level in a 301A study were reached, 10d-window is failed). For such a substance, it can be assumed that it will be biodegraded within the STP process and, as a consequence, the transfer to the soil compartment is not likely. Additionally, as the logKoc is below 3 and the substance has no cationic properties, a low adsorption potential is indicated. Therefore, binding to sewage sludge is unlikely and again, a transfer to the soil compartment is not expected. Furthermore, studies available on the aquatic toxicity of the submission item suggest a low hazard towards environmental organisms. Taking the available information into account, no studies on terrestrial organisms are deemed justified.
