Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to other study

Description of key information

Flammability: non-flammable liquid; experimentally determined flash point > 60 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

As the substance is a liquid, the relevant test for flammable properties is the Flash Point measurement. A fully reliable experimental study is presented under IUCLID section 4.11.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the results of the test on the flash point, the test item is classified as follows:

CLP (Regulation EC 127212008 Annex 1: 2.6): With a measured flash point > 60 °C, the test item does NOT have to be classified as flammable liquid.

GHS: with a measured flash point between 60 and 93°C, the test item is classified in category 4.

UN Transport Regulation: With a measured flash point> 60 °C, the test item does NOT have to be classified as flammable liquid according to the UN Transport Regulation.
