Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance is an organic salt which reacts violently with water. Therefore the log Pow of the conjugate acid was used.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
-0.3
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The substance reacts violently while testing. Therefore the log Pow of the conjugate acid , i.e. ethanol, was taken from literature. In the publication of Roddy et al. (1981) a log Pow of -0.3 at 25 °C and pH 7 was determined. In the Handbook of Environmental Fate and Exposure Data for Organic Chemicals a value of -0.31 was listed. The experimental data base of EPIWIN included a value of -0.31. A value of -0.3 was used for risk assessment as all three sources stated a very similar log Pow value.
