Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

pH value:

Remarks on result:
other: 4.8 Water solubility (Walker 2014, Harlan Laboratories Report no. 41400265); considering the high concentration the pH is assumed attributable to impurities
pH value:

Temp.:

Remarks on result:
other: pH 7.4 at start and 7.3 at end of test in both replicates & inoculum control; constant 7.4 in procedure control; 7.4 at start and 7.5 at end in toxicity control; 22-24 °C (Eisner 2011, Harlan Laboratories Report no. D32045)

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

During the determination of the water solubility in a GLP-compliant study (Walker 2014, Harlan Laboratories Report no. 41400265) using the flask method according to the OECD TG 105 (1995) and EU A.6 (Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008) protocols, the pH was measured to be 3.3 at 20 °C when 35.1 g Dimethyl itaconate (CAS 617-52-7)/L (i.e. the limit of water solubility) were dissolved.
