Additional information

The physical and chemical properties of the submission item were taken from the literature or measured in GLP compliant studies. No indication for hazards based on physical and chemical properties exist.

In addition to the standard requirements data on the refractory index are available. Kloetzel (1948) investigated reactions of nitroparaffins, some of them yielding the submission item. He confirmed the identity by elemental analysis and measured further the refractory index at 20 °C. At the time of the publications no guideline existed and no data on the method applied are given, but the value was independently verified by other authors.

In conclusion the refractive index in considered being 1.4457 at 20 °C.
