Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

If inhaled:Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest. Obtain medical attention. In case of skin contact:Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. If symptoms (irritation or blistering) occur obtain medical attention. In case of eye contact:Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes.Obtain medical attention. If swallowed:Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300ml of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting as a First-Aid measure.Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing mediaSuitable extinguishing media: water spray, foam, dry powder or CO2Specific hazards during firefighting: If involved in a fire, it may burn and emit noxious and toxic fumes. Combustion products: carbon dioxide, carbon monooxide, hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen bromide.Advice for firefightersSpecial protective equipment for firefighters:A self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing should be worn in fire conditions. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency proceduresPersonal precautions: Ensure suitable personal protection during removal of spillages.Environmental precautionsEnvironmental precautions: Prevent entry into drains, sewers or watercourses. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.Collect spillageMethods and material for containment and cleaning upMethods for cleaning up: Absorb spillages onto sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material. Transfer to a container for disposal. Wash the spillage area clean with water and detergent. Avoid release to the environment.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handlingAdvice on safe handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe fumes/vapours. Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/ protective clothing. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilitiesRequirements for storage: Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.areas and containers Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. Keep away from heat and direct sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measuresUse appropriate controls (e.g. containment, ventilation) as specified in the workplace risk assessment to ensure that the defined occupational exposure limit is not exceeded. Prevent entry into drains, sewers or watercourses.Personal protective equipmentEye protection: Use safety glasses to protect against direct contact with the liquid if the risk assessment does not support the selection of other protection.Skin and body protection: Use protective clothing to protect against direct contact with the liquid if the risk assessment does not support the selection of other protection. Use chemical protective gloves with a permeation time greater than the activity duration. Take note of the information given by the PPE producer/supplier concerning permeability and breakthrough times and special workplace conditions.Respiratory protection:Use a negative pressure air purifying respirator (half face mask) with filter class A if the risk assessment does not support the selection of other protection.Protective measures:Decisions about whether the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is appropriate as part of the control strategy should be based on the workplace risk assessment and should take account of local legislative requirements for selection and use. There are multiple factors that will affect the specific requirements such as amount and concentration of the material, duration of exposure, frequency of exposure, external environmental conditions, the task, the user etc.All the information above should not be used in isolation and should be considered in the context of the workplace risk assessment on a case by case basis.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No known reactivity hazard under normal conditions.Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.Hazardous reactions: None known.Conditions to avoid: No conditions producing hazardous situations known.Incompatible materialsMaterials to avoid:None known.Hazardous decomposition products: Combustion products: carbon dioxide, carbon monooxide, hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen bromide.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methodsProduct: Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or national legislation. Waste, even small quantities, should never be poured down drains, sewers or water courses. Dispose of contents/ container to an approved incineration plant. This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste.Contaminated packaging:Empty container will retain product residue. Observe all hazard precautions.
