Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Most important symptoms and effects: Irritating to eyes.

Description of first aid measures

General: In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Inhalation: Dust may be irritating to the respiratory tract and cause symptoms of bronchitis. Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice

Skin: IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eye: IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

Ingestion: No special measures required.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: No additional information available

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: ( preferably ) water

Unsuitable extinguishing media: none known.

Hazardous decomposition / combustion products: Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions.

Protective equipment: Use self-contained respiratory equipment.

Fire and explosion hazard: In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: See section on exposure controls / personal protection

Environmental precautions: Collect as much as possible in a clean container for (preferable) reuse or disposal.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Flush remainder with water (Absorb the remainder with e.g. vermiculite). See section on diposal considerations

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Avoid dust generation.

Fire and explosion prevention: In certain concentrations the product may form an explosive dust-air mixture.

Conditions for safe storage: Avoid contact with aluminium, zinc, nickel, copper and copper alloys in combination with humidity/ water.

Other information:Protect product from moisture and wet air. Keep container tightly closed and dry.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters: The usual precautions for handling chemicals should be observed.

Personal protection

Respiratory: In case of dust formation use dust mask. Dust exposure limits have to be respected.

Hand: For permanent (>480 minutes), full contact use, 100% nitrile gloves conforming to EN 374, e.g. KCL Dermatril 740 are recommended.

If used under conditions other than given above it is recommended that a supplier of CE approved gloves is

contacted.

These recommendations are only applicable to the chemical as supplied by Akzo Nobel; if mixed with or

dissolved in other substances please contact a supplier of CE approved gloves (e.g. KCL International +49 66

59870, fax +49 6659 87155).

Eye: Wear eye/face protection.

Skin and body: Wear protective gloves, eye/face protection and protective clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid: Reaction with strong oxidising agents. Product layer on hot surface might cause glowing or autoignition.

Chemical stability: Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions (see section on Handling and Storage)

Incompatible materials: Avoid contact with aluminium, zinc, nickel, copper and copper alloys in combination with humidity/ water (for example:

Formation of: hydrogen).

Hazardous decomposition products: Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions (nitrous gases (NOx))

Disposal considerations

Product: According to local regulations.

Contaminated packaging: No specific recommendations.
