Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
8 - 10 November 2005
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
GLP certifying authority, Germany
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Atm. press.:
95.7 kPa
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
>= 165 - <= 255 °C

Three runs have been performed.

After melting, thiram begins to decompose to a product or products that evaporate causing the broad endotherm at 165 - 255 °C. As heating continues any unevaporated material remaining in the pan then undergoes an exothermic decomposition at 270 - 295 °C. No boiling point endotherm is observed.

Description of key information

The substance decomposes starting from 165 °C at 95.7 kPa.
