Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General: Consult a physician. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Eye Contact: Flush eyes with water at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if eye irritation develops or persists. Remove contact lenses.

Skin Contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with plenty of water.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Consult a physician if necessary.

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Consult a physician after significant exposure. Call a physician or poison control centre immediately. Keep patient warm and at rest. If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice. Keep respiratory tract clear. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. In case of shortness of breath, give oxygen.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media: ABC powder/ Carbon dioxide (CO2)/ Dry chemical/ Water mist

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Halons

Special Protective Equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing, including self-contained breathing equipment.

Further information: Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Specific hazards during firefighting: Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Hazardous combustion products: Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide; Hydrocarbons.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Persons not wearing protective equipment should be excluded from area of spill until clean-up has been completed.

Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Large spills should becollected mechanically (remove by pumping) for disposal. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling

Storage: Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Store in cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.

Advice on safe handling: Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. For personal protection see section 8. Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Avoid exceeding of the given occupational exposure limits (see section 8). Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Store in original container. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

German storage class: 10 Combustible liquids not in Storage Class 3

Other data: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Handle substance within a closed system [E47].

Provide extract ventilation to points where emissions occur [E54]}.

Ensure the ventilation system is regularly maintained and tested [E74].

Respiratory protection: When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators.

Wear suitable gloves (tested to EN374) such as: nitrile rubber, butyl rubber.

Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields [PPE19]

Wear suitable coveralls to prevent exposure to the skin [PPE27]

Engineering measures

Provide sufficient mechanical (general and/or local exhaust) ventilation to maintain exposure below level of overexposure (from known, suspected or apparent adverse effects).

Hygiene measures: Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Environmental exposure controls, General advice: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Stability and reactivity

Disposal considerations

The substance does not meet the criteria for classification as dangerous for the environment, is readily biodegradable and will not persist or bioaccumulate.
