Executive summary:

The auto flammability of the substance dimethylaminoethanol was experimentally determined according to German Standard DIN 51794 (BASF AG, 1992). A self-ignition temperature of 230°C at 1013 hPa is reported.

Description of key information

Autoflammability: 230 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
230 °C

Additional information

Referring to the key study, the auto flammability of the substance dimethylaminoethanol was experimentally determined according to German Standard DIN 51794 (BASF AG, 1992) and a self-ignition temperature of 230°C at 1013 hPa is reported. This value is used for the Chemical safety Assessment. Supporting studies by BASF AG (1985) and GESTIS (2010) report similar self-ignition temperatures.
