Additional information

The toxicity of TBBPA to terrestrial plants was tested in 2 studies:

1) Porch et al. (2002): 21 d seedling emergence and growth test in six species of terrestrial plants at nominal concentrations of 0, 20, 78, 313, 1250, 5000 mg/kg dry soil. The test species were Corn (Zea mays), Cucumber (Cucumis sativa), Onion (Allium cepa), Ryegrass (Lolium perenne), Soybean (Glycine max) and Tomato (Lycopersicon esulentum). There were no adverse treatment-related effects on soybean seedling growth; treatment-related effects on seedling growth were observed in corn, cucumber, onion, ryegrass, and tomato. The 21 d NOEC in 6 species of terrestrial plants ranged from 20 (cucumber) to 5000 (soybeans) mg TBBPA/kg dry soil.

2) Sverdrup et al. (2006): 21 d seedling emergence and growth test in T. pratense at nominal concentrations of 1, 10, 100 and 1000 mg/kg soil dw. The NOEC was determined to be ≥1000 mg/kg soil dw.
