In a CO2 Evolution Test (OECD 301B) under GLP conditions, using non-adapted activated sludge from a municipal sewage treatment plant as inoculum, the substance was found to be 89% degraded after 28 days based on CO2 evolution (BASF SE 2011, report no. 22G0696/05G003). The 10 -days window was fulfilled and the test is valid.

The data of an inherent biodegradability test conducted equivalently to an OECD 302 B study support this indication; the substance was easily eliminated from water mainly by biodegradation within 12 days (degradation: 91%; BASF AG 1979, report no. 559). As inoculum, industrial activated sludge was used.

In conclusion, the substance is considered to be readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
